ANDS Software - Release 15
Find Data for Research
With a completely redesigned interface, the new-look Research Data Australia provides a more data-centric browsing experience for researchers to search, filter, evaluate and, ultimately, access data.
Access our short video for a quick tour of the new stylish site. A help document can be accessed at any time by using the orange Help button in the bottom right hand corner of every page in Research Data Australia.
Re-focusing on the Data
A complete redesign of the data description pages puts key information right up front. Accessing the data via a landing page, tool or direct download, when available, is now as easy as clicking a button.
Identifying the data's openness is visually easier too - just look for the green ‘Open' label.
Improved Search Interface
With a focus on making data easier to discover, Research Data Australia users have more flexibility to narrow down search results using the search filters. Advanced Search can be used to refine search terms using boolean expressions and/or limit the search to particular fields within records.
Access our short video for a quick tour. A help document can be accessed at any time by using the orange Help button in the bottom right hand corner of every page in Research Data Australia.
MyRDA - A tool to personalise your search experience
Planning to spend some time on the new site? MyRDA is a new feature for the the serious searcher who wants to do a comprehensive scan of available data assets in a particular field.
MyRDA allows users to save favourite searches, tag records and bookmark records for future reference. Login to MyRDA is via AAF or via one of the following social media accounts - Google, Facebook, LinkedIn or Twitter.
Access our short video for a quick tour. A help document can be accessed at any time by using the orange Help button in the bottom right hand corner of every page in Research Data Australia.
Custom search for grants and projects
Particularly interested in research grants and projects? The new site has a search service just for research grants and projects. Refine your search results using filters - by status, subjects, funding body, managing institution, funding amount, and more.
Access this search via the ‘Explore' menu or via the Advanced Search.
New Home Pages for Contributing Organisations
Research Data Australia will automatically generate a contributor home page for every organisation that provides records to RDA. This homepage is linked to all the collections, parties, activities, and services published by a contributor.
The auto generated contributor page can be embellished by your organisation's administrators with richer text, a logo and images via the new Contributor Page CMS incorporated into Research Data Australia.
The CMS can be accessed by data source administrators through MyRDA with the same credentials (e.g. AAF) they normally use to access the ANDS Registry. Access the Contributor Page help document [PDF 1.7MB] for more information.
