RDA Publishing Workflow

The Research Data Australia (RDA) Publishing workflow is extremely simple, only requiring that records contain no errors before being published. Users manage their records using two statuses 'Draft' and 'Published'. The 'Draft' status allows users to save records and work on them across multiple sessions before publishing.

An extra step can be added to the workflow wherein the user can choose to manually publish the record after creation or harvest. This step is done by enabling the 'Manually Publish Records' flag within the Records Management Settingstab of the Data Source account .

The diagram below illustrates the publishing process for data providers.

Harvested records are automatically approved by the system. Records are either auto published by the system or manually by the user. See  Records Management Settings page for more information.
