Exporting Data References from RDA

The export options shown on the Research Data Australia (RDA) Citation popout provide a quick and easy way of exporting data references to your reference management software. 

Data references are exported from RDA in the Research Information Systems (RIS) format. This format is supported by EndNote and a number of other reference management solutions (e.g. Zotero & Mendeley).

EndNote is currently the main reference manager supported by RDA as it provides the support for a 'Dataset' reference type. All RDA collections with type 'software' is being mapped to 'Computer Program'. Other reference management solutions will accept the RIS format but may not display the 'Dataset' reference type correctly.
