Release 42 (12 October 2021)

Release 42 of ARDC Online Services is scheduled for implementation on Tuesday, 12th of October, between 8am and 12pm AEDT. This release implements a number of enhancements and bug fixes to Research Data Australia and Research Vocabularies Australia. Below is the list of all the changes planned for this release.

Research Data Australia

RDA Portal

• Fix the formatting of the author's name in EndNote Citation Export when the names are generated from related entities.
• Phase 1 of support for ANZSRC 2020 FOR and SEO classification codes in RDA 

• • properly display ANZSRC 2020 classification codes to their equivalent literals in RDA record view page

• • add ANZSRC 2020 vocabularies to Advanced Search subject vocabulary drop-down

• Fix the issue with the selection or addition of date range in Grants and Projects advanced search 

• Change the label displayed with the icon in the title bar from "Dataset" to "Data" and change the label "Similar Datasets" to "Similar Data".

• Implementation of a regular automated harvest of grant records from the ARC Data Portal 
• Update RDA with the latest ARC and NHMRC grants data
• Use gtag.js for Google Analytics, and specify a cookie domain and settings for the SameSite and Secure attributes in its configuration 
• Add the Secure attribute to all cookies issued by the server

RDA Registry

• Fix the RDA Registry validation when manually adding records 
• Update the RDA Registry to enable the selection of the ANZSRC 2020 classifications in the manual entry screen
  

Research Vocabularies Australia

• Use gtag.js for Google Analytics, and specify a cookie domain and settings for the SameSite and Secure attributes in its configuration 
• Add the Secure attribute to all cookies issued by the server 
• Support the browse visualization and the subscribe button for viewBySlug Portal URLs 
• Don't offer "view resource as linked data" for manually-entered top concepts in resource search results

Other Changes:

RIF-CS version 1.6.4 (vocabulary updates only): 

• Add "isVersion" and "hasVersion" relationship types to allow providers to use these relationship between data

• Add "CC0" licence type

  
  

During the implementation, the following services are impacted: 

• Research Vocabularies Australia (RVA) portal

The following services are not impacted and will still be available during release implementation:

• Research Data Australia portal
• Research Data Australia registry
• Research Vocabularies Australia editor (PoolParty)
• ARDC DataCite DOI Service
• Handle Service
• IGSN Service

A soft release on Demo is happening today, 11 October. Research Vocabularies Australia (RVA) portal will be intermittently unavailable during the implementation.
