First stage: Migration of ARDC Online Services Demo environment
Happy New Year!
Over the next 12 months, the ARDC is planning to migrate its Online Services to new host infrastructure.
The migration is part of a project to automate and streamline the configuration and management of the environments which host ARDC Online Services. The project aims to eliminate inconsistencies across environments, refresh infrastructure and ensure the ARDC can continue to provide reliable and robust national services into the future.
While the ARDC will make every effort to minimise downtime and impact on our users, some downtime will be necessary.
The first stage of the migration is scheduled for Thursday, 16 January 2020, between 8am and 12pm AEDT. This will see the databases underpinning many of the services in the Demonstration environment moved to a new host. Apart from some necessary downtime, the first stage of the migration should not have any other impacts on our users.
During this stage of the migration the following Demonstration environment services will be intermittently unavailable:
- Research Data Australia (RDA) portal and RDA Registry
- Research Vocabularies Australia (RVA) portal
- Handle service
- IGSN service
Please note this stage of the migration only affects the Demonstration environment. No changes are being made to the Production environment at this point in time. Communications for additional stages of the migration will be sent as required.
Please schedule your activities accordingly. If you have any questions or concerns please contact services@ardc.edu.au. Thank you for your support.
